🌱 Happy First Day of #Spring! While it`s still looking pretty wintery today in Ontario ❄️ we`re excited for longer and sunnier days to come. Before you know it, it`ll be time to crack into our hives and get back to bzzz-iness in the bee yard! 🐝 🐝 🐝 #healthybeeshealthyplanet ...

Happy International Women`s Day! Did you know? A honey bee colony is made up of around 85-90% female (worker) bees! Of course, all daughters of one fantastic Queen Bee. 👑 🐝

We are very grateful to work alongside so many strong, passionate, and creative women. The women we know impress us every single day—from our inspiring team to the growing number of women in our industry, and beyond.

Here`s to strong women: May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them!

Happy Valentine`s Day! ❤️ 🐝 ...

Dr. Heather Broccard-Bell is NOD`s Honey Bee Health Researcher, an inset aficionado and one of our favourite Beeks (bee geek). 🐝 🤓 This weekend, she had the honour of taking to the podium at BeeTech 🇨🇦 Canadian National Beekeeping Convention and Trade Show.

Dr. Heather shared the brand new results from a pilot that she and the NOD Research Team ran this past summer: tracking how Deformed Wing Virus levels change throughout the season and when colonies were treated with Formic Pro.

Big thanks to the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) and @Honey_Council_Canada for hosting all of us Beeks at a great event.🤩

The NOD Team has headed west! We`re off to Calgary, Alberta for events hosted by the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) and Canadian Honey Council (CHC). Today we attended the AGM for CAPA & CHC, followed by BeeTech: Canadian National Beekeeping Convention and Trade Show (Feb 9-10). We`re super excited for BeeTech because this is Canada`s first ✨National✨ show, with beekeepers from every province, AND our very own Dr. Heather Broccard-Bell will be giving a talk on Saturday morning!

Dr. Heather will be sharing the brand new results of a pilot study run at NOD this summer, tracking how Deformed Wing Virus levels change throughout the season and when colonies were treated with Formic Pro.

Be sure to catch Dr. Heather this weekend (Sat. 10:30am–12pm time slot) and swing by the NOD Apiary Products booth with all your varroa questions. Plus, don`t forget to snap a pic with our giant varroa mite!
